The importance of chelated trace elements for problematic peat soil

In peat soil, trace elements are not only tied up by the soil but also easily precipitated out by phosphates, carbonates and other soil and fertilizer compounds. Lignosulfonate cations ( Cu⁺⁺, Zn⁺⁺ ), altering their electronic charge from positive to negative, hence increasing the availability to plants.

Efficacy of Lignosulfonate Chelation

Lignosulfonate-chelated granular trace elements can be used at a ratio at 1 to 7 compared to normal non-chelated trace elements such as copper sulfate or zinc sulfate.
